Although veterinary medicine was his first interest, he had to have his wisdom teeth removed during the summer between his freshman and sophomore year at NC State. Planning to enroll in veterinary school, his orthodontist inquired if he’d ever considered dentistry. After shadowing him for a few days, he decided dental health is where he needed to be.
After completing his bachelor’s degree in zoology from North Carolina State University in 1993, he earned his dental doctorate at the University of North Carolina School of Dentistry in Chapel Hill in 1997. Since that time, Dr. Lisk has continued to pursue educational courses and training to further his skills and clinical knowledge. He has attended the Dawson Academy and the Dawson Center for Advanced Dental Study.

He’s also an avid coffee drinker, loves going to concerts, spending time out in nature, hiking, traveling, and listening to music.
